    Brad Richardson Facts

  • He had grown up playing minor ice hockey for the AA Belleville Bobcats in his hometown of Belleville and later for the AAA Quinte Red Devils of the OMHA (Ontario Minor Hockey Association). With the latter team, he had played in the 1998 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament. After strong performances in minor leagues, he was picked 10th overall in the first round of the 2001 OHL (Ontario Hockey League) Priority Selection by the Owen Sound Attack.
  • In his first professional season (2005–06), he had split the year between the Lowell Lock Monsters of the AHL and the Colorado Avalanche of the NHL.
  • He had achieved his first career hat-trick in October 2010, for the Los Angeles Kings, in a 6-4 win against his previous team, the Colorado Avalanche.
  • When he won the Stanley Cup with the Los Angeles Kings in 2012, he had featured in 13 post-season games. He was forced to miss the first 2 post-season games that year after undergoing an emergency appendectomy.
  • In November 2016, during his 2nd season with the Arizona Coyotes, he was hit by defenceman Nikita Tryamkin in a match against his former team, the Vancouver Canucks. The incident had fractured both his tibia and fibula bones in his right leg, requiring season-ending surgery.
  • During the qualifying round of the 2020 Stanley Cup playoffs, he had scored an overtime goal that had won the series for the Arizona Coyotes against the Nashville Predators. He would leave the former team to join the latter in October 2020.
