Ryan Remington is the police officer at the Tucson Arizona police department. But, he was fired from his position after killing a disabled man. 

A CCTV footage of an off-duty Arizona police officer shooting a disabled man in a motorized wheelchair outside the Walmart has gone viral on Twitter.

The footage shows, Mr. Remingtin, and another officer following Mr. Richards to the doorway of another nearby store, with one officer telling him "not to enter the store."

Mr. Remington then fires nine shots at Mr. Richards, who tumbles forward and falls from his wheelchair.

Who Is Officer Ryan Remington Tucson Arizona?

Ryan Remington is a police officer from Tucson Arizona. He has been working in the police department for four years as of now.

However, he was fired, after a recent incident on November 29, 2021, in which he was seen firing shots at a wheelchair-bound person.

He was working as a security guard in Walmart during his off-duty period during the incident.

Mr. Remington brutally shot a man in a motorized wheelchair who was accused of stealing a toolbox from Walmart and brandishing a knife when confronted.

Mr. Remington fired nine shots at Mr. Richards, who crumples forward and falls from his wheelchair. Richard was then restrained with handcuffs.

However, he was later pronounced dead.

Was Ryan Remington Arrested?

Mr. Remington has not yet been arrested but, he has been terminated following the incident on the same day. The Pima County Attorney's Office is now investigating the incident.

In an interview with the BBC, Michael Storie, an attorney for Mr. Remington, said that the department's summary of the case is "only half the story". And many more crucial details were kept confidential from the department's press conference.

In a statement, Tucson Mayor Regina Romero called Mr. Remington's actions "inexcusable and unjustifiable."

The excessive use of force by Mr. Remington is a clear violation of police department policy and depicts the negative use of the power of the police."Tucson police chief Chris Magnus said on Tuesday.

However, we have to wait until Mr. Remington's additional statement is released on Wednesday.

Ryan Remington Killed A 61 Year Old Disabled Man

In the shooting, that happened on 29 November 2021 at Walmart, Mr. Remington killed a 61-year-old disabled man. 

The victim was Richard Lee Richards, who was accused of stealing a toolbox in a motorized wheelchair.

According to the report, Richard was asked to show his receipt of purchase when he threatened the guard with a knife.

However, he refused to comply and stated that he needed to be shot in order for him to stop while trying to escape through the parking lot. 

The police officer then open fires at the suspect, which made him crumble and fall from his wheelchair. The suspect was reported dead immediately.
